2011 Gay Ottawa Volleyball Tournament - 20th Anniversary Edition

Saturday April 2 to Sunday April 3 2011 - Registration is NOW FULL

Gay Ottawa Volleyball (GOV) is pleased to welcome volleyball teams from across the country and from across the border to a special 20^th edition of our annual volleyball tournament to be held in Ottawa, Ontario on the weekend of April 2-3, 2011. Again this year, the tournament will be played at the University of Ottawa Montpetit gym located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. In celebration of our 20^th year, this year's banquet will be held at the National Arts Centre (NAC), and the host hotel is the nearby historic Lord Elgin Hotel. For this year's tournament the theme is "20 to Life", a 'prison' theme.

Teams that register now will be placed on a waiting list. Teams that have already registered must pay in full before March 25th, or their spot will be given to a team on the waiting list.

Early Bird Registration

Register before March 11th for the early bird rate of $600 per team (maximum of 7 players and a minimum of 6). Payment must be received on or before March 11^th in order to qualify for the early-bird rate. After March 11^th, the cost of registration rises to $650. The last day of registration is March 25^th. In addition, all other payments need to be received no later than March 25^th. Your registration fees include two days of volleyball as well as the Saturday night banquet and show.

For more than 7 players, there is an additional fee of $50 for every additional team member. Extra tickets for just the banquet are available for $45 per person.

Team reservation can be done on-line by completing the registration form. Fees are payable by cheque or money order made out to Gay Ottawa Volleyball, or G.O.V. Please be sure to include your team name on the back of your payment when submitting.

Accommodations

This year, GOV is pleased to provide a new special hotel package for out-of-town teams in co-operation with the historic Lord Elgin Hotel in downtown Ottawa near the National Arts Centre, Parliament Hill, the Byward Market, and the University of Ottawa. The Lord Elgin Hotel is located at 100 Elgin Street, Ottawa. The hotel will be offering special rates to participants in the GOV tournament.

Tournament Meet and Greet

The Meet n' Greet and Registration for the tournament will be held at the Lookout Bar (41 York Street) on Friday April 1st from 8pm to 11pm. Teams will be able to receive their tournament package, as well as meet up with other players, have a drink and dance.
